Discover World Protect by Golden Care®

Since 1986, we have built recognised expertise within Golden Care in designing international health insurance solutions. Our commitment has always been to provide comprehensive cover tailored to the needs of people who live, work or travel around the world. From the very beginning, we have sought to make international health insurance easier to understand by adopting a consistent contractual structure across all our solutions, supported by language that is deliberately clear, straightforward and transparent.

To meet the specific needs of our members, we have developed the World Protect by Golden Care® range. It brings together insurance solutions designed for clearly defined markets, including WorldCrew Protect® for aviation professionals, WorldHealth Protect® for digital nomads, expatriates and internationally mobile retirees, and WorldStudy Protect® for students studying abroad.

Below, you will find information about the organisation, administration and distribution of World Protect by Golden Care®, together with the legal and regulatory framework governing our activities.

In 2026, our group celebrates its 40th anniversary and retains its passion for protecting you.

Operations Coordinated Across Three Countries

Our operations are coordinated across three countries, each playing a distinct and complementary role in delivering first-class international health insurance solutions. In addition, we confirm that all companies within the Golden Care Group share the same ownership structure.

Global Health and Accident Insurance Ltd (GHAIL) Guernsey

Policy Issuance

We have chosen Global Health and Accident Insurance Ltd (GHAIL), an insurance company licensed and regulated in Guernsey, to underwrite our international health insurance policies. This structure enables us to provide long-term contractual stability for clients whose insurance needs extend across multiple jurisdictions.

The Company operates a structured reinsurance programme designed to ensure the long-term security of both its policyholders and business partners. As such, 100% of the insured risks are transferred to leading international reinsurers operating within the Lloyd’s of London market, recognised for their financial strength and holding ratings including A+ (Superior) from AM Best and AA- (Very Strong) from S&P Global Ratings.

Our choice of Guernsey follows the same commitment to stability. For many years, the Island has been recognised as a leading jurisdiction for international insurance business. Its close relationship with the Lloyd’s of London market and the world’s leading reinsurance providers offers a stable and reliable framework, well suited to the demands of international mobility.

This structure combines prudent underwriting, comprehensive risk transfer arrangements and robust regulatory oversight to deliver sustainable and dependable insurance solutions.

GHAIL operates within a rigorous regulatory environment. In accordance with the regulatory requirements applicable in Guernsey, additional information relating to its corporate governance and the financial strength supporting Golden Care insurance policies may be made available upon request.
